Putting Experience
to Work
"My long history of community dedication, public service, and policy experience on the local and state level gives me the expertise and knowledge to make a difference from day one as the Assemblymember for the 109th District," said Farrell.
Farrell began her career in the NYS assembly working in Pat Fahy's office as a legislative analyst and scheduler, developing a deep and intimate knowledge of the issues that face residents across the 109th Assembly District, including advocating for education, jobs, and the environment.

Now serving as the committee director for the environmental conservation committee in the office of the Chair, Assemblymember Deborah Glick, Farrell oversees legislation that affects New York State’s environmental conservation and preservation efforts – including protecting our birds and bees as well as focusing on packaging reduction, producer responsibility, and other important environmental efforts.
In elected office in her own right, Farrell was elected to represent Albany’s 13th ward in the Common Council in 2017, becoming Majority Leader in 2019. Prior to the Common Council, Farrell was elected citywide to the Albany City School Board, eventually becoming its president and championing the transformational Albany High School renovation project into reality.
